Inspiration

We cannot take the reponsability of diagnosing illnesses or diseases instead of doctors. And yet we chose to be a support for those experts that continue to make miracles in the lives of us simple humans.

What it does

We built an app, that helps doctors narrow their searches when trying to diagnose conditions with rare or too similar symptoms. The doctor of course is solely responsible for the diagnosis.

How we built it

We built a Retrieval Augmented Generation system, using the InterSystem's IRIS Vector Search based on a dataset we mined through a public medical Encyclopedia.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge was finding a dataset tailored to our needs, but we ended up creating it ourselves.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The fact we all together have ben able to turn our vision into some kind of a usable reality, is what we're most proud of. The thrill we got is what a Hackathon is for.

What we learned

Through this challenge, we improved how we work as a team, delegate and share milestones and challenged.

What's next for EncycloDoc

Connecting with doctors to further tailor this solution to their needs, in the hopes this app will be the perfect assistant to ease and perfect their work.
