Inspiration

Our current mission is to increase awareness about the financial aspects related to using electronic devices, giving people the knowledge and resources to not only save electricity but also protect their finances.

What it does EnergyMate do?

It monitors power draw and records to a database. WebApp displays power draw data to the end user. Basically, you can monitor how much money you've spent this on electricity bill and help you to reduce it, for instance, this month you've used Heater for 20 hours, it costed $15. For the next month, if you use it 10 hours, you could save up to $8.

How we built it?

Project includes simulations in Proteus, Arduino code for ESP32, Git for version control, Postman for API testing, and DigitalOcean for reliable cloud deployment.

Challenges

We ran into issues with SQLite, our front-end charge was drawn out due to unforeseen circumstances.

Accomplishments

We're proud of being able to overcome our roadblocks and run software on cloud.

What we learned

To deploy the project to DigitalOcean for cloud-based data driven IoT pipeline solutions. We learned to setup up a python virtual environment using SSH protocol into the cloud.

What's next for EnergyMate.

In process, our aim is to be a part of the solution that helps safeguard the Earth's invaluable resources, promoting sustainability and ensuring a healthy environment for generations to come.
