Inspiration

Every product has a backstory, but consumers rarely know it. EthicScope aims to bring visibility to supply chains, helping people choose brands that align with their values around sustainability and social justice.

What it does

EthicScope provides users with an interactive, data driven approach to exploring complex ethical questions. By aggregating relevant information, highlighting multiple perspectives, and offering structured frameworks, the platform helps users analyze issues in a thoughtful and systematic manner. It can also connect individuals and experts, fostering constructive dialogue and collaboration around ethical challenges.

How we built it

Our backend uses MongoDB for efficient data storage, Flask to handle API endpoints, and Cerebras to integrate advanced data processing and AI capabilities. Tavily supports distributed computation and ensures smooth performance under load. On the frontend, Next.js enables server side rendering for fast and SEO friendly page loads, React.js powers dynamic user interfaces, and Tailwind CSS makes styling both rapid and consistent. Together, these technologies create a seamless and responsive user experience.

Challenges we ran into

• Integrating Cerebras and Tavily with our Flask APIs required significant custom development and debugging.
• Ensuring data consistency across MongoDB when handling large datasets was another hurdle.
• On the frontend, achieving a cohesive design with Tailwind CSS while maintaining full accessibility took several iterations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of
