Inspiration

What if you could some facts about places you never knew about! I have heard some fun facts about 5 countries and jokes that have been shared and I thought: maybe Alexa could tell me more about countries I didn't know about and shared them with others too!

What it does

This app tells me one fact about one country so I would ask it about the country and it would give me a fact about it. The countries are based in Africa

How we built it

It was built using the Alexa developer console. This console gives me the ability to make changes and create a new skill for Alexa to have. Its new skill is to be able to tell fun facts and translate them into one of the native languages of the country.

Challenges we ran into

It was more difficult to translate it from one language to another

Delving into something I have never done before and following the tutorial to create something new!

What we learned

I learned about the different vocabulary that is used in developing a skill for Alexa as I did not even know you could build this. I also learned how to apply python in coding and deploying the code.

What's next for First Alexa App

Hopefully, I can add more countries and be able to translate the facts into the native languages of more African countries.
