Inspiration

Researchers want a log book of catches Fishermen want a live platform to sell their catches Consumers want choices for their shopping

What it does

It is a trading platform for the fishermen and buyers. Those images from the trading platform can be identified by thirdparty image recognition software such as FishFace to generate meaningful data for the research communities.

How we built it

We use Parse as the backend, Swift for the mobile and node.js for web.

Challenges we ran into

We have encounter issue after taking photograph that costs us time to fix.

What we learned

The fishery industry and their problems are extremely impactful for many of our lives. Providing our solution is a way to monitor and prevent irreversible damages to the ecosystem. The problem is, we learnt that some fishermen from developing countries do not own a phone or may be illiterate, but we believe that this application is going to motivate government, next generation fishery professions to adopt new technology.
