Inspiration

Oftentimes, making flashcards and using intricate study methods can be both time consuming and annoying. We created this app to make the process of studying much easier.

What it does

Our app converts notes to flashcards using AI, elaborating on key information and concepts in the notes.

How we built it

Initially, we discussed our unique struggles and strategies when studying, and from that, we started brainstorming. We first used Figma to design the UI for the project, which we then converted in to a web app using HTML, CSS, JS, and the OpenAI Library and API.

Challenges we ran into

In the last hour before uploading our code, the laptop with all the important files froze and would not restart until we opened up the laptop and removed the battery.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Given the challenges we faced, we're proud of finishing our MVP for the project and creating something that will be useful to us in the future.

What we learned

During our time making this project, we learned a lot about different AI and image recognition APIs and libraries. Including leveraging OpenAI to use natural language processing in future AI projects.

What's next for Flash

As we planned in our Figma, but didn't implement yet, Flash has the potential to support the include Leitner studying method, image-to-text for handwritten notes and an input space for curriculum, so the AI can better personalize the notes.
