Inspiration

We were inspired by not wanting to give personal identifying information (PII) to register.

What it does

PII free hackathon registration and soon-to-be hackathon management system.

How we built it

Used Vue.js for the front end with an OpenZeppelin extended ERC721 token for the event ticket, managed by an accompanying contract to issue the token upon registration and then burn it upon check in.

Challenges we ran into

It was the first time developing a Dapp from the ground up using either Vue.js or Solidity; was a challenge implementing an ERC721 token with minimal documentation on the subject.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Deploying an ERC721 token
• A killer reveal.js/particles.js slide deck

What we learned

Was a deep dive for us into the hackathon process and implementing an MVP in a limited amount of time. We learned to make decisions quickly that move the project forward, a handful of solidity, project planning, and the ability to have an immense amount of fun while under the gun.

What's next for FUBAR

We want to implement an ERC20 token that would be distributed to registrants for voting on favorite projects (comparable to Bufficoin). The final votes would hold some weight - in conjunction with the judging panel - to give the community a voice. This could also be used pre conference to vote for favorite speaker proposals as well. Beyond that, the sky is the limit and we see FUBAR being a full-blown hackathon management system ON THE BLOCKCHAIN to take place of current centralized systems requiring personally identifying information.
