Inspiration
What it does
We welcome you to a VR mini game within which you will experience complete immersion in a fantasy, utopian landscape as you make your way across an interactive-obstacle filled passageway. By simply positioning your right hand in a chosen direction, you can navigate your way through the environment. While gliding through dreamy passageways, you will come across expressive sculptures, cascading hills, and enveloping audio. To cross obstacles, you use various hand gestures to access to a toolbox that allows you to interact with and manipulate them. In Glidecove, you may sit down and lay back as you relax and take a digital dip to find your virtual flow.
How I built it
This experience and scene is built and rendered in Unity. Assets have been modelled via VR sculpt in Gravity Sketch, Blender, and with Houdini. Our team was divided so that half of the members focused on design aspects while the other half focused on building the mechanics.

What's next for Glidecove
This experience exists within a larger system of interactive environments. After clearing all the obstacles and reaching the end of the passageway, the user comes across a portal that gives access to another dimension of the experience. Each dimension provides a new interactive environment, and each of these environments is controlled with a unique user interaction. For example, this environment is controlled with hand gestures. Another may be controlled by eye movements, facial expressions, etc.
