Inspiration: Listened to a friend in band who wanted to start getting into the public and share their talent. There was nothing that existed for connecting young musicians to gig opportunities. I had some experience with gigging at local venues as many public areas are in fact, wanting to hire young musicians.
What it does: GoGig is a mobile app both deployable on IOS and Android that connects young musicians in a school to public venues willing to hire.
How I built it The front end of the app was built with React Native and the backend uses Google Firebase as it was very easy to connect with React Native.
Challenges I ran into
Having database authorization, connecting both the musician side and the venue side
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
- Taking action after recognizing a problem that related to people I know
- Truly has the potential to help any young musicians to show their talent.
- Very nice Logo design and UI that's very intuitive
## What I learned
- How to iron out an idea so that it was feasible
- Connecting the app to a backend in Firebase
- New styling techniques for a better user experience ## What's next for GoGig
- Deploying to the App store and organizing the data base
Built With
- firebase
- reactnative
