Inspiration

We live in a modern world where lifestyles are getting more and more busy, sedentary and unhealthy. In this context, eating healthy is a choice and a process. A process that is unneccessarily complicated and vastly inaccessible. Our idea is to simplify this journey from unhealthy to healthy, fat to fit with simple well known solutions.

What it does

Goodbytes helps anyone who wants to make , buy or order a healthy meal. User chooses what they want to eat, type of diet they are following and the app shows them how to make that specific food item healthier and much lower in calories. The app replaces the unhealthy ingredients from the recipe of the food item you want to eat/make with healthier ,low calorie and diet specific ingredients and gives you a new recipe along with the new lower calorie count!

How we built it

-Selecting a target Track -Conceptualizing and planning -Listing out features -Designing the frontend in Figma -Prompt Design -Testing out the best generative output (openAI, BARD, PaLM2 etc.) -Implementing the Backend: -The API integration to send the desired prompt to the GenAI API. -Frontend to prompt the input from user -Send user input to backend for processing -Send the output of the API in a structure manner to the frontend to show the user

Challenges we ran into

-SDK not connecting -not getting a desired response from the API endpoint -Issues in Integration of frontend and backend -Creating a UI that is engaging and intuitive

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Created a UI that is engaging and intuitive
  • Successfully implemented the backend script

What we learned

  • Gained experience in debugging
  • Creating a completely new digital product in a very short time
  • Learned how to use Google AI studio, Vertex AI, Flutter and , Gradio

What's next for GoodBytes

  • There are multiple use cases of this app in the future. The app can be a very good ally to health enthusiastic individuals who can use it for cooking food or ordering food online.
  • Future scope includes : The app can be integrated with fitness apps like Apple Health, Fitbit app. It can also include features like connections to doordash, grubhub , hellofresh or online grocery merchants like wholefoods where user can order the ingredients that the app suggested
  • Scope of Gen AI : Learning from user inputs and preferences. AI could be used to create videos of the recipes suggested by the language model.
