Inspiration

We wanted to make being environmentally friendly simple, so we rolled several features we thought would be helpful into one app.

What it does

The app has several features that make it easier to be environmentally friendly, including sending daily notifications with environmental tips, a handy graphic with recyclable materials, and timers with preset times for things like showers.

How we built it

We decided to build an iOS app utilizing swift and Xcode due to Apple being more popular in the US

Challenges we ran into

Challenges included allowing the app to notify the users when needed and syntax errors in our code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the app's ability to notify the user of environmental tips and set a timer for environmental-related activities.

What we learned

We learned that going green helps us live a healthier lifestyle, thus, increases productivity at home and in the workplace. Simple actions such as recycling will contribute to creating a sustainable world.

What's next for GreenHelper

We'd like to expand the suite of capabilities for users and ensure the process is smoother by improving the UI and UX.
