Inspiration
I got the inspiration to make GreenMobt by looking around myself and listening to the problems my friends were encountering. In fact, nowadays there are many companies that provide bike sharing in big cities but for a common user is it difficult and confusing to handle all the different brands of bikes with different apps for each one. Another inspiration for the carpooling section was because of the less availability in the market of such a service, especially a green and eco-friendly one.
What it does
GreenMobt makes it easy to search for bikes because it shows on an interactive map all the bikes available with the company's logos and features and the availability of each of them. The car renting section is a prototype of an idea which should be later on implemented thanks to external investments in this idea to make it possible to happen. Because electric car renting may solve lots of problems for families who want to travel by choosing an eco-friendly vehicle.
How I built it
The project is divided into 2 sections:
- The bike sharing section is developed using VUE JS and "fluctuo Data Flow API" which made it possible to have such a huge amount of data from all the companies today available
- The car renting section is developed using React JS
Challenges I ran into & accomplishments that I'm proud of
I had challenges while developing the bike-sharing section as I wasn't so much fluent with VUE JS and the server side but in these 2 days I am really happy to have cleared out many of my doubts and I can say that these 2 days helped me to get a depth in knowledge in VUE JS and the server side
What I learned
Apart from the technical point of view, I learnt how to manage my time and that anything is possible even if at the very beginning it seems to be impossible. In fact, I'm surprised to have done so much work in 2 days and I'm really happy that this hackathon made me push so far and left me with such a nice experience and project
What's next for GreenMobt
GreenMobt will be available also as a mobile app, with the use of React Native. A proper business model will be built for this project because I think it has the potential to be transformed into a startup and with the right amount of time dedicated to being a useful tool for daily users and for the world after all because it aims to build a greener future which is a primary goal for our humans in order to have a healthy future for us and the coming generations.
