This is the prototype diagram of The KAS Inhaler.
Inspiration We were particularly interested in innovations in stem-cell therapy and development in the implementation of stem cells to treat various respiratory issues.
What it does Our product is an inhaler that specifically allows asthmatic patients to inhale Treg cells or other effective stem cells that repair bronchial tube damage and help repair the lung’s function.
How we built it We build our product through developing extensive research on the structure of inhalers and how we could potentially implement stem cells into one. We then came across the use of inhaling stem cells to treat other viruses and redirected our findings to help treat asthma.
Challenges we ran into One of the biggest challenges we ran into was being quite new to drawing and building prototypes. As this was a new task for our group, we specifically overcame this challenge by looking for diagrams online and working collaboratively.
What we learned We learned how to communicate scientific research findings effectively and summarize our research to outline all the elements of our prototype.
