Inspiration
Our inspiration stemmed from when students try to work with other students or go to office hours by appointment and there is a lot of back and forth and they can't find a time that worked.
What it does
Our project allows you to create a group, also known as a Hen Pack, by inputing the emails and putting in a group name. It then leads you to input times that you are unavailable and it will then compute and output the times that can work.
How we built it
We built it using javascript, html, and css. We focused on the front end and delegated people to one page. After each web page was complete we focused on linking them together and adding backend features for functionality.
Challenges we ran into
We started with programs that we didn't know how to use and switched to html even though none of us have substantial background knowledge. Our main obstacle was our lack of experience. We also had trouble getting the available times to output.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our ability to quickly adapt our change in language and we are proud that we were able to fix problems that we faced. Some problems we faced was that when we input emails, it would print out the whole list of emails with the new one added, but we were able to fix that issue.
What we learned
We learned a little bit out web development, basics in html and css, some javascript, and how visual studio works. We also used learned how to use git more practically with visual studios.
What's next for HenPack
Refining our Hen Pack problem and potentially using an API to help with scheduling.
