The story behind Hidden Guru
The inspiration comes from the large number of tutorials you find nowadays on social media. Many are great, but how many of them are really authentic? They create the material once and keep receiving money, but education is about teaching and learning continuously: it should have interactions. How many crazy things we actually learned from our partner, our best friend, our colleague, our grandparents, our neighbor, even without them being professionals in the fitness field or inside the kitchen? If you think about it, they're the ones who taught you the coolest things, the ones you'll never get rid of. We always want to learn something that you can’t find tutorials in the market but there may be someone somewhere in the world who is a master at that. This is where our project was born, a platform that wants to enhance the skills of each one of us. Those skills that if you see them from your friend at the bar make you scream "Woo man! How did you do it?". Well, what if we told you that around the world there are thousands of friends like yours who from now on will take some of their time just to teach you that very particular thing?
How does it work?
It's as simple as that: you just go into the app, look at the skills available and see if there's something you're interested in learning. Do you know already what you want to learn instead? Make a request, surely someone will be willing to teach you! Better yet, you know how to do something extraordinary and want to share it with others? Become the guru yourself! The best thing? All tutorials are live and face to face (or rather, screen to screen). Your guru will take time to teach it exclusively to you, with all your doubts, questions or failed attempts. Do you need more time? your guru is there for you. Ask him!
The technology behind Hidden Guru
The whole UX/UX was done using Adobe Illustrator. The mockup application, which does not have any logic behind it, was coded using Flutter.
Accomplishments
What we are proud of inside our app is the possibility to use it even outside of the sad context of the COVID-19, which we hope will end as soon as possible. Despite that was the reason that drove us to create it, Hidden Guru is an happy place where to learn new things from all over the world in our free time.
Future features
The recognition that our gurus have today is that of the positive reviews to their related course, but our idea is to also bring an open donation from the disciple, so that the guru can earn something from his availability and talent. This then becomes not only a great way to spend time at home, but also a way to earn money. In addition, the courses could become regular and paid courses, depending on the success and demand for them and of course on the availability of the guru. And you, would you have ever thought of earning money by teaching others to twirl the pen between their fingers?
