Inspiration

People have lived, loved, and prospered in Kullu for millennia. Its streets are lined with historic buildings, and its residents are proud of their heritage and traditions.

It is known for its annual international Dussehra festival, which has been celebrated for hundreds of years and attracts visitors from all over the world.

This idea was inspired by our aim to promote historical tourism and preserve Kullu's culture. We understand that many people cannot visit Kullu, but we believe that through innovative use of technology, we can create an immersive experience that transports people back in time and lets them experience the town's unique historical significance from the comfort of their own homes.

What it does

VR and blockchain technology can help conserve Kullu's legacy and enhance historical tourism. VR lets viewers explore the 1950s village and experience its culture and traditions. Using blockchain technology to create a historical metaverse would allow users to own a piece of Kullu's history.

This effort should inspire others to find creative ways to promote historical tourism and preserve their own local culture like ours. We think that creative technology can build a more inclusive and sustainable tourism business that benefits travellers and local communities while preserving the history and culture of the places we visit.

Our goal is to encourage historical tourism, preserve Kullu's history, and inspire awe and connection to the past. We believe that through researching the history and culture of places like Kullu, we may better understand ourselves and our role in the world and make significant connections with the past.

How we built it

Our project is built on a tech stack that includes Solidity for smart contract development, Polygon for blockchain infrastructure, and Infura for IPFS image and data storage. This stack enables us to create a secure and decentralized marketplace for Kullu historical items, where users can browse and purchase items while also learning about the rich culture and history of the region. With this tech stack, we have created a reliable and efficient system that ensures the authenticity and verification of each item sold, making it a trustworthy source of information for historians and enthusiasts alike.

Then we used blender to recreate historical model of kullu from 1950's and added VR to create the user experience .

We are proud to have the opportunity to showcase the unique history and cultural heritage of Kullu through this project. We believe that Kullu has a lot to offer in terms of its beauty, traditions, and architecture, and we are excited to use VR and blockchain technology to create a historical metaverse that will enable people to experience the town's rich cultural heritage from anywhere in the world.
