Inspiration

We were inspired by the lack of customizable and broadly inclusive fitness workout websites. Many websites don’t account for the elderly, nor pregnant women who may want to stay in shape. We wanted to make it easy for people of a larger range of ages and conditions to stay healthy by providing customizable workouts

What it does

It allows people to take a survey which would lead them to workouts that best fit their condition and what they want out of the workout. Then, it would lead to a website that provides additional information, such as additional exercises that can replace the exercises the survey provided, as well as videos on how to do some of them.

How we built it

We built the survey using GameBox so that each choice made would be accounted for to lead to different results depending on what the user entered. We made the website using Wix.

Challenges we ran into

We had to research the optimal amount of exercise, as well as safe exercises, that people of different conditions should do, which took a considerable amount of time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Finding innovative ways that would implement our idea, while still being doable with our skill level.

What we learned

We learned how to work and communicate effectively with each other as a team to finish within the tight deadline. We also learned how to be creative and collaborate with each other to come up with new ideas and problem solve by talking through any issues we encountered. We also learned how to set up a Wix website and adapt existing code to suit our own needs.

What's next for HoosFit

HoosFit hopes to expand its level of detail with regards to the kinds of workouts it recommends by taking into account people’s own preferences for different kinds of exercises. Hoosfit hopes to make the workouts more customizable, as well as be able to accommodate different lifestyles. Additionally, HoosFit plans to develop an app to make it more accessible, and easier for people from different walks of life to access it.
