Inspiration

We were inspired to create this design and use our backend knowledge to allow homebuyers who are either eligible or not eligible find a suitable home for them as soon as possible while improving their finances.

What it does

The web application allows the user to enter information on their details in a questionnaire that then evaluates where the homebuyer is in their journey. If they are eligible to be a homebuyer, they are shown a checklist to go through to complete buying a house, and be given all the tasks in one place so they are able to know what tasks they can complete asynchronously and synchronously with the real agent. The non-eligible homebuyers can check the suggestions, and see where they can improve in their finances, changes they can make in their choice of real estate, etc.

How we built it

Our team utilized Figma to fully create the design of the web application after planning what components we wanted as the different web pages for the user as mentioned above. Further, we planned three different graphs which are made from datasets based on the characteristics - income, age, and credit score for the real estate agent to observe what possible characteristics could affect their clients real estate outcomes.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into the challenge of C++ not being as applicable of a backend langauge to use in different applications such as Django/Flask which allow the implementation of the front end and the connection of the frontend and backend go more smoothly. We changed our code to Python later in the hackathon and started usind Django as well.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our improvements in project planning to have numerous useful components for the home buyer and the real estate agent alike.

What we learned

We learned how much more we can learn about connecting the frontend and the backend. Further, we learned about the framework Django which was new to all team members.

What's next for HouseReady

HouseReady will be using the MongoDB database to connect homebuyers data and real estate to actually be entered in the frontend with the application of the backend codes.
