Inspiration

We are really inspired by the idea of solving the potential danger of icicle block formation. This causes blockage of oil that may be bad for transferring oil to gas stations at the right time. Cars may not be driven at this time since they cannot obtain oil.

What it does

We created a web application that lets user upload .csv files that include data history of icicle blockage. The program then reads through the files and outputs the chance of a potential blockage.

How we built it

My team attempted the implementation of mathematical functions and artificial intelligence to solve the problem. The problem with AI is to maintain high accuracy, even though it gave us the solution faster. We then decided to tackle the challenge using derivatives to calculate the probability of blockage occurrence. This ensures accurate prediction of an ice block formation.

Challenges we ran into

There were not any major challenges that we had. The main issue was just us being exhausted from constantly working. Though, we really had a good time at the Hackathon. The sponsors and event organizers really spoilt us with good food. Thank you!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We accomplished what the prompt required us to do. We are happy to accomplish through the power of friendship and intelligence.

What we learned

We learned how to communicate better between teammates. Communication is important to ensure progress and the fact that everyone is on the same page. Time management is also a powerful skill that we learned. Furthermore, we learned that Calculus was not totally useless!
