Inspiration

Every successful business starts with a spark with that amazing "what if?" moment. But for most, that spark hits a hard stop: the overwhelming reality of not knowing how to begin. It a brick wall of uncertainty and being drowned in questions: Is this crazy? How much will it cost? Will people use it?

Nike's iconic slogan, "Just Do It" is easy to say, hard to do. The first steps feel like a thousand and for many, that's where the journey ends. We don't want brilliant ideas to stop just there. That's why we built Ignition Lab, a platform designed to help entrepreneurs take that first critical step. We provide the tools to dissect the tough questions, validate your vision, and transform that initial spark into a real, actionable plan.

What it does

Our platform guides you through a simple, step-by-step process:

  1. Get Personalized Startup Ideas (If needed): analyze your resume to generate personalized ideas based on your skills and interest.
  2. Validate Your Idea: in-depth analysis for financial viability, market competition, and legal matters.
  3. Generate Customer Feedback: build shareable feedback forms with custom questions.
  4. Find Your People: locate potential customers for feedback and connect with potential co-founders or employees.
  5. Build a MVP: creates a simple landing page.
  6. Action Plan: synthesizes all your data into a clear, step-by-step roadmap for what to do over the next 30-90 days.

How we built it

  • Framework: We used Next.js with React and TypeScript with Tailwind CSS for the frontend and backend.
  • AI & APIs: Google's Gemini API, Google Search, Perplexity AI

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge was switching from Perpelixty AI to Google Search because it wasn't giving us real and relevant profiles. Instead, we turned to Google Search that gave us real people from the web such as LinkedIn, but the process of integrating gave us problems with the search engine. We solved this by creating a Chrome Search Engine ID and it worked!

What's next for Ignition Lab

  1. Refine the AI: improve the prompt engineering to provide even more accurate and nuanced financial and market analysis.
  2. Deploy and Launch: finalize the project and ship to real users.
