Inspiration

The goodness of the heart is the ultimate source of inspiration for Impact Hub. We have all had the experience of volunteering and we wanted to make it even easier for people to make a difference in their community by creating a platform that connects individuals with the nearest volunteering opportunities.

What it does

Impact Hub is a platform that features a map of the closest nearby volunteering opportunities. It also includes a blog section where users can share their volunteer experiences and inspire others to take action.

How we built it

We decided to create a website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to bring our vision to life. Our goal was to make the platform user-friendly and engaging, so we tried to learn a bit about UI/UX design.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges we faced was integrating the Google Maps API. It required a lot of research and problem-solving to make sure the map functioned seamlessly within the platform.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a functional website that not only serves a purpose but also provides a valuable learning experience for all involved. We are also proud of the pop-ups that show up on the map, providing more details about the volunteering opportunities.

What we learned

We learned a lot about UI/UX design and the different types of volunteering opportunities available. We also gained valuable experience in coding with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

What's next for Impact Hub

We plan on adding different sections for different types of volunteering opportunities as well as a search function to make it even easier for individuals to find the causes they care about and make a difference in their community.
