Inspiration

The world is dangerous. There are many different injuries that a child can get, from bug bites and stings to rashes and scrapes. This app was created to make children more educated about the injuries that they could sustain, and what to do if they get them. This would help them be more independent and would make them less prone to injuries and illnesses that may arise from not treating an injury correctly.

What it does

This is a simple app designed to educate children on the 4 most common types of injuries by having them study it and test their knowledge with a quiz.

How we built it

We took turns and used MIT App Inventor to create the app. We designed a home screen, followed by a study and game button. In the game section, we put images of injuries along with the multiple-choice buttons and created the "next" and "back" buttons. Then, we created the code to go along with that. In the study section, we added pictures of injuries along with their names for kids to study.

Challenges we ran into

The most challenging phase that our team members faced was deciding what idea to make our project from. It was a contradictory situation where we were discussing the project ideas but having some time with proper discussion, we made InjurED our final project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of successfully using dictionaries in MIT App Inventor and making a functional project and design.

What we learned

We learned how to use MIT App Inventor to create an app and design a game.

What's next for InjurED

Something that could be next is a design that allows teacher to add their own questions and study guides.
