Inspiration

As students ourselves, we have gone through gruesome problems trying to find information and resources for many important topics. Hence, we decided to come up with a website that could help other students with their STEM related academic struggles.

What it does

InnovED is a website that compiles resources and information from the internet to help other students study for STEM related topics. Continuing on, we have a scholarship form that could help students receive information for scholarships. We also have a form that you can fill out to find a tutor.

How we built it

We first started off with a basic HTML Front-End Template. From then on we had started hard coding the backend and started adding more impressive and interactive pages that helped make a user-friendly and lively experience. In the backend, we used JavaScript and an API that helped sort the scholarships and the tutor form on our website that would contact others. In the front-end, we used Bootstrap, HTML, and CSS. All in all, we had a fun experience building this website from the little time we had.

Challenges we ran into

A few challenges that we ran into was that we were having difficulties trying to resize and use objects in our project. We were able to overcome these challenges by finding different ways to accomplish this.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the animations and custom-made API that we were able to make to help us in our journey of creating InnovED. We are also very proud of the information we were able to gather that could potentially help other students in their struggles.

What we learned

We learned a lot from the workshops we were able to attend throughout this hackathon. We also learned how to code using bootstrap, CSS, JS, and HTML.

What's next for InnovED

In the near future, we are planning on scaling InnovED to be used in the real world so that it could help students with STEM related topics. We are also planning on increasing the topics and information that is in our website so that it would be able to help much more.
