Inspiration

Our collaboration with Trendex was driven by a desire to build a logistics experience that delivers your online orders straight to your door — seamlessly.

Customers often struggle with the manual, messy logistics processes that occur between ordering a product abroad and receiving it at home. These steps usually involve:

  • Excessive human involvement
  • Time loss
  • Unnecessary costs

We aimed to eliminate that friction by building an automated, end-to-end logistics system.
Our vision: Tap once, and the entire process is handled behind the scenes.

What It Does

We built a powerful, role-based logistics platform that includes:

  • Admin Panel: Full control over finances, user roles, settings
  • Operator Panel: Accept/reject incoming orders
  • Reception Panel: In-office customer service (order registration/delivery)
  • Foreign Warehouse Panel: Manage operations at international hubs
  • Local Warehouse Panel: Track parcels, send automated SMS notifications
  • Mobile Apps (iOS & Android): Full feature parity with the web system
  • Shipping Cost Calculator: Based on dimensions, weight, and destination
  • Smart Customs Integration: Seamless compliance with Azerbaijani e-commerce declaration laws
  • Payment Gateways: Dual system for both transportation and parcel payments
    • Transportation Balance: Pasha Bank, Kapital Bank, Millikart
    • Order Payments: Paytr, Paymes

Performance Outcomes:

  • Website ranking on Google’s first page for 15+ keywords (e.g., karqo xidməti)
  • 100+ daily new user registrations by the third month of the project

How I Built It

  • Backend: PHP (Yii Framework), MySQL
  • Frontend: HTML5, CSS3
  • Mobile Apps: Native Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android)
  • DevOps: Docker, Nginx, CI/CD pipelines
  • Marketing Stack: Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Mailchimp, custom SMS Gateway

Challenges I Ran Into

  • Multi-role synchronization: Building a real-time system where 5+ user roles interact with shared yet isolated data models
  • Smart Customs API: Keeping up with frequently changing government API standards and regulatory changes
  • Shipping cost logic: Creating an accurate, country-specific pricing engine based on a wide range of variables (dimensions, weight, destination)

Accomplishments that I'm Proud Of

  • Automation-first workflow: Reduced human labor by ~70%, leading to major savings in time, costs, and resource use
  • Marketing outcomes: Dominated SERP rankings for logistics keywords in Azerbaijan; explosive user registration growth
  • Fully modular dashboards: Role-based interfaces that function independently while remaining in sync

What I Learned

  • Planning for modular architecture saves enormous time when scaling features
  • Building for diverse user roles (not just personas) is key in logistics platforms
  • Government API integrations require flexible error handling and reliable retry mechanisms

What's Next for Trendex Cargo System

  • AI-based shipping prediction: Use machine learning to forecast delivery costs more accurately
  • Live-tracking & Chatbots: Add real-time order tracking and conversational UI to boost engagement
  • Global expansion: Introduce dynamic regional support for launching in new countries quickly
