Inspiration
Delivery operations are typically among the most expensive processes for local businesses. Our goal is to make these operations more productive and efficient.
What it does
Internodz connects businesses with their local community for load-pooling processes. Thus, it increases the productivity of delivery operations by up to 25%, a measured value reported by the domain research here on the 19th page and here on the 140th page.
It is an enhanced (improved) version of Square’s patented solutions (US9811838B1, US9269103B1 and US10043149B1) previously registered and assigned to subsequent owners.
Through Internodz, recipients around routes of scheduled deliveries are informed (notified) in order to allow them to add their needs to those upcoming deliveries to their locations with financial incentives on "delivery fees" and/or "minimum order values".
How we built it
By bringing novelty approaches to the use of online mapping platforms with the following development tools/platforms and technologies;
- C#
- ASP .NET
- JavaScript
- Node.js
- MS SQL Server
- APIs for OpenStreetMap data
- Square APIs (Orders API, Locations API, Catalog API and Webhooks)
Challenges we ran into
We initially encountered challenges integrating the order creation flow with order pooling for delivery, but the Square APIs' metadata feature fully helped us solve this.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The attention that it takes from logistics experts.
What we learned
The hackathon contributed to our enterprise application development mindset a lot.
What's next for Internodz
- Optimizing pooling-matching processes using AI that learns from historical data.
- Expanding pooling processes to include multiple businesses in a single delivery trip.
- Application of the same pooling mindset for supply chain processes of Square businesses.
- Application of the same pooling mindset for long-distance inter-city e-commerce delivery operations.
