Inspiration
Our inspiration was the social media app TikTok, as well as the tutoring platform Schoolhouse.world.
What it does
The app allows students to submit questions by either taking a picture, recording a video, or writing some text. Teachers or tutors can answer by uploading an explanatory video or slideshow. We also have an authentication + onboarding system consisting of a login.
How we built it
We used React Native with Expo, Firebase, and lots of suffering.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges included figuring out how to handle videos, proper navigation, and working with databases, something we've never done before!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our final product had several working features, including swappable video content, as well as a text, photo, and video submission page.
What we learned
We learned how to create cross-platform mobile apps and how to use databases, along time and project management.
What's next for InterTeach
In the future, we'll be working on cleaning up our code and expanding the app's features!
