Inspiration

Our team was inspired to work with a data collection company because we are passionate about technology and its ability to solve real-world problems. We wanted to apply our skills and knowledge in a meaningful way, and working with a company that specializes in data collection allowed us to do just that.

Data collection is a crucial aspect of many industries, including healthcare, finance, marketing, and more. By working with a data collection company, we were able to gain insights into how data is collected, stored, and analyzed in real-world applications. This experience allowed us to see the impact that technology can have on various industries, and motivated us to continue exploring this field in the future.

What it does

The IveyHacks project aims to provide users with a user-friendly and optimized mobile application that allows them to control their data more easily. The app will enable users to manage their data across multiple platforms and services, all from one centralized location. This will include features such as data backup and restore, file sharing, and data deletion.

How we built it

To build the app, we used React Native for the user interface (UI) and connected it to a Firebase database for data storage. React Native is a framework that allows for the creation of native mobile apps using JavaScript and React, while Firebase provides a back-end infrastructure for building apps quickly and easily.

Challenges we ran into

We faced difficulties with setting up and managing the database, mainly due to the lack of published data available for the database we were using. Additionally, as first-time developers working on building an app from scratch, we had limited experience which added to the challenge. Despite these obstacles, we were able to successfully overcome them and develop our app with the skills we learned along the way.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to successfully design an app prototype for Cyder using Figma, allowing us to create a visual representation of the user interface and experience. Additionally, we managed the database for the app from the cloud, ensuring that data could be stored and accessed efficiently. With the prototype in hand, we developed a functional version of the Cyder app within the given timeframe, allowing us to test its features and functionality. Moreover, we evaluated the feasibility of expanding the app's capabilities and reach, based on user feedback and market demand.

What we learned

We aim to expand its customer base which means expanding its customer base to include other industries and sectors. This will help the company diversify its revenue streams and reduce its reliance on a single industry. Additionally, the most important thing we have top keep in mind to build brand awareness: Focus on building brand awareness and establishing itself as a leader in its industry. This could be achieved through targeted marketing campaigns, thought leadership content, and strategic partnerships. We could create a more responsive version with React Native to gather their feedback and did more customer surveys. In future, we see Cyder as a automous data assistant product for user!
