Inspiration
We love to watch television and movies. The question is to whom to talk about a movie or an episode, when we watch it?
The solution is "Just another chat". One chatroom for every movie und television series.
What it does
Like "shazam" the app is comparing a fingerprint of the sound recorded by the smartphone microphone to a database. There is one chatroom for every movie and television series and background information like pictures, actors or the locations where a scene is taken. To monetise the idea we can show e.g. hotel offers near these locations, or related offers from the products shown in the movie or episode.
How we built it
Everything is native objective-c code. We include one fingerprinting SDK and the APIs from Ericsson, P7S1, weg.de and wetter.com
Challenges we ran into
It all about the quality of the sound. 3 Seconds of recorded audio is enough. But background noises make the recognition process complicated or it takes up to 20 seconds.
