Inspiration
We thought that it was necessary to spread kindness towards our internet community. The internet often has a negative connotation when it comes to the damaging side effects of social media and the ever-increasing cyberbullying occurrences. With this in mind, we thought about creating a platform in which people could anonymously spread kindness and love to other internet users, which ultimately led us to the creation of KindSound!
What it does
Users around the world can receive and send kind messages to other users anonymously. Spreading the joy of human kindness.
How we built it
We used react for the frontend, and Firebase to store our data in our backend. We use nodejs and express to connect our frontend and backend.
Challenges we ran into
Our API backend wasn't working and we were having a hard time figuring it out. Some packages that we used also had obscure documentation that was hard to work with.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our backend works really fluidly with our frontend and our frontend UI is very polished and clean.
What we learned
We learned more about firebase, nodejs servers with express, and react.
What's next for Kind Sound
We are planning to deploy and make the day of more users better.
