Inspiration

Since language classes generally don't get to practice speaking and writing the language with people whose first language is the language they are trying to learn. This app is to help strengthen their skills as they connect with people near then or across/around the world.

What it does

Allows students to connect with other students who are fluent in the language they are trying to learn, so these students can call one another or send audio and text messages.

How we built it

Using Google Cloud Platform and Figma, we created a front and back end of this application but had trouble in integrating the two parts.

Challenges I ran into

We are a small team who joined this hackathon that just wanted to experience this hackathon and receive as much knowledge possible from the workshops. Also we are an inexperienced team in creating projects that successfully work. We also had trouble recording both teammates for the presentation, so we were only able to record one of us. Also since we had no experience in Google Cloud Platform, we created a VM and connected our domain to it but had no idea how to show it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

are the skills that we developed in designing and creating the front end of this application.

What I learned

is that Figma is a more in depth and complicated tool than we realized.
