Inspiration
We were inspired by the concept of having an all round organization system that could be used by others around us. Some exist such as Notion (the basis of our inspiration), however most are quite daunting to use at first. Therefore, we built Learn Hub, an intuitive web app which allows you to track and manage time, projects and etc effectively, ensuring you are organized daily.
What it does
Learn-Hub allows you to manage your work through to-do lists, create a timetable, learn through your study plan and chat (randomly or with friends, similar to coffee talk culture).
How we built it
To build the web app, we used the basic software languages used in front end web development: HTML, CSS and JavaScript, alongside backend technologies.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge we faced was the geographical distance between the group members. Even though the three of us were in different time zones, we were able to coordinate smoothly to complete this project. Next, we also planned many ideas but they were all quite unsatisfactory so we were able to agree on the final project idea, Learn Hub.
What we learned
We have learnt a lot about using the git workflow from this project and how to effectively manage snapshots of our code along the way. Since most of our group weren’t very familiar with Git version control, this hackathon was a very good opportunity which taught us about managing commits, local versions and ultimately collaborating with other developers.
What's next for Learn Hub
I'm not sure what the future holds for Learn Hub, but if possible, the three of us will still keep and develop this project as a memorable memory. If we do work on it further, we really hope we can develop this app, Learn Hub, spreading it out to more users and devices. For instance, we plan to hopefully work on adding additional features to Learn Hub such as more studying options, and better time tracking systems. We also would like to work on developing the program on app development technologies so it could be used without going on the web.
