Inspiration
Students who got stuck in learning usually seek help from learning groups, forums, or tutors. Private tutorials are expensive and unaffordable for many, and students don't always get a response from groups/ forums.
To encourage peer learning, we could like to build an app that awards users that helped others with points. Points can be used to exchange vouchers for paid online courses (e.g. partner with DataCamp, Coursera/ Interview cake etc).
What it does
The app encourages peer learning by incorporating gamification components.
Features
Users can login/ register
Users can post questions, reply to a thread, comment on a thread and react to a thread
Users can gain points by replying to question posts/ receive positive reacts
How we built it
Front-end using html, css and javascript
Back-end using Firebase
Challenges we ran into
We are an international team with members from different timezones, not all developers are awake at the same time. We tackled this with effective communication and planning.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We completed the UI design and built a web app!
What we learned
Some of our developers have not much experience in coding, and we learnt a lot about front-end development using javascript and backend development using Firebase.
