Inspiration
Watching YouTube videos is a great way to learn, but it is not optimal as it is lonely and it's hard to get help without a buddy. LessonifyAI fixes that.
What it does
LessonifyAI takes any YouTube video and converts it to a classroom-type lesson. It allows learning to be more hands-on. It takes the YouTube transcript, cleans it up, and through the power of the OpenAI api, it allows for the generation of notes, hands-on assessments, and an AI helper to guide you through the learning experience.
How we built it
We first designed it in Figma, then we coded the frontend in HTML and tailwind and the backend using Django.
Challenges we ran into
OpenAI api is not free, so we looked for alternatives, but we couldn't find one, so we ended up paying for it anyways. There were multiple huge bugs in the frontend and the backend.

We built a nice app to simplify learning.

We learned how to build a full-stack app using openAI api.
