Inspiration

In today’s world, only the ultra-wealthy and larger corporations have their own money managers and personal bankers. The best thing the everyday person has is simply an app where they are left alone to navigate and make unguided decisions. If one decides to make the trip to their local branch, they must wait in lines, only to be placed with a banker who doesn’t have a personal history with you, who may give you faulty or less optimal results. Our program aims to fix this by providing an extensive UI displaying your balance and spending info, as well as a personalized virtual assistant to help you with your finances

What it does

The personal AI Banker “Lira”, is here to give us financial advice, we can ask questions like “I’d like to open a Roth IRA account” or “I’d like a checking account with low fees and nice perks”. We can also ask it which credit cards we should apply for, or personal loans. We also have the a dashboard, displaying our finances and banking information. It displays current total balance, as well as how much it has increased or decreased from last month. Along with our balance, we also have our current spending and if that went up or down. To further break down our balance, we also have an account break down, “itemizing” our total balance, showing how much are in checking, vs savings accounts etc. As you see here this sample user has a standard checking account as well as a high yield savings account. We also give a spending breakdown, to give our users a better idea of how well they are spending/budgeting and where their capital is being allocated to.

How we built it

Leveraging cutting-edge frontend frameworks and robust backend technologies, we crafted an intuitive interface that elegantly presents detailed financial data and personalized insights. We seamlessly integrated OpenAI’s conversational engine with the Nessie API to securely retrieve, process, and display real-time banking information.

Challenges we ran into

Matching the data sent from the user interface into the Nessie API, along with setting up the text to speech. Another challenge was connecting the information when a user signs up with he backend.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are product of creating a speach to text recorder and using the chat GPT wrapper for our chatbot, creating our personal assistant for our customer to use. We are also proud of our user interface.

What we learned

We gained a deeper understanding of integrating APIs with our front-end output, ensuring seamless data flow and user interaction.

What's next for Lira Banking

  • Collect AI chat history
  • Link dashboard data to AI system prompt so it can give even more personalized info based off bank info
  • Allow a centralized dashboard for all bank accounts across different firms
