🔮 Inspiration

Spam is a lose-lose mess. Users drown in junk—90% of emails are spam—wasting time with no reward. Corporations lose too, blindly blasting messages that miss the mark instead of hitting the right audience. We’re flipping it: Block Talk turns attention into a win-win, where users earn for their focus and companies get more bang for their buck targeting the right people.

⚙️ What it does

Block Talk is a decentralized messaging app on Bitcoin’s Lightning Network. You set a satoshi price for incoming messages— and you earn Bitcoin for your time. Secure, private, and no middlemen. Advertisers and pros win too, landing messages and ads with the people they actually want—niche market audiences or the right execs—cutting through the noise. Secure, private, and no middlemen.

🤦🏼‍♂️ Challenges we ran into

We faced several challenges building Block Talk, like ensuring seamless Lightning Network integration for instant micropayments, which required fine-tuning our Voltage-run node for reliability under load. We also had to balance user-friendly pricing controls with spam filtration, tweaking the satoshi-based system to avoid complexity.

🦾 Accomplishments that we're proud of

One accomplishment we’re really proud of in building Block Talk is successfully integrating the Lightning Network to enable instant, low-cost micropayments that reward users seamlessly. Seeing it work—messages flowing, payments hitting wallets — felt like a big win for the team and a solid step toward redefining how people interact online.

One important thing we learned building Block Talk is how critical it is to balance user empowerment with simplicity. Streamlining the satoshi-based system taught us that even in a decentralized, tech-heavy app, keeping the user experience intuitive is key—power means nothing if it’s not accessible.

  • 🔐 Privacy-First Enhancements: End-to-end encryption and robust identity protection to ensure user data and conversations remain fully private.
  • 🧪 User Testing & Feedback Loop: We’ll be working closely with our early adopters to refine the product, gather insights, and shape the future roadmap around real needs.
  • 🧠 Creator & Professional Tools: Onboarding features for consultants, sales pros, recruiters, and creators to monetize inbound inquiries in a simple, elegant way.
  • 💰 Fundraising: We’re seeking seed investments for a six month sprint to launch Block Talk.
  • 🤝 Strategic Collaborations: Partnering with projects in the Bitcoin and Web3 ecosystems to expand reach, integrate services, and grow the BlockTalk network.
