Inspiration

Today in the workplace, employees waste hours every week looking up files or other information related to their work. Currently there are no good solutions to this problem because companies often tend to use multiple sites to store internal knowledge and existing tools offer limiting search experience where you cannot easily find the right information unless you know exactly what it is or where it's located. That's why we created lounge.

What it does

User can import files from google drive, and pages from github wiki and search for the page.

How I built it

We had to do a lot of integrations. Making sure that search experience was smooth for large data sets.

Challenges I ran into

Cleaning up html tags from the github wiki was a pain to deal with. But, we eventually got around that problem by using wombat gem that allowed us to get the content without the tags.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We're pretty proud of mvp we built at the hackathon. We've been able to do a lot of work in such a short period of time.

What's next for Lounge

We want to add more offerings like Confluence, dropbox, and box to import their data from.
