Inspiration
The inspiration for MacroSnap came from the everyday struggle of tracking nutrition and maintaining a balanced diet. With busy lives, manually logging meals and calculating nutritional values can be overwhelming. We envisioned an app that combines the power of technology with simplicity, using image recognition to make nutrition tracking as easy as snapping a photo. MacroSnap was born out of a desire to empower individuals to make healthier choices effortlessly, bridging the gap between technology and well-being.
What it does
MacroSnap simplifies diet tracking by allowing users to snap a photo of their meal and instantly receive detailed nutritional information, including macros and calorie counts. It provides real-time data to support healthier dietary choices effortlessly.
How we built it
We built MacroSnap by combining state-of-the-art image recognition technology with a user-friendly interface. Our journey began with extensive market research to understand user needs and challenges in diet tracking. Leveraging a robust tech stack including nodes.js for backend processing, TensorFlow for image recognition, javascript and Figma for a seamless mobile experience, we we use kaggle dataset to accurately identify and classify various foods. We integrated a comprehensive nutritional database to provide detailed macro and calorie information, ensuring regular updates for accuracy. Through meticulous design, we crafted an intuitive interface, followed by rigorous integration and testing to ensure performance and reliability.
