Inspiration
We wanted to turn endless scrolling into something meaningful - a beautiful, personalized magazine that you can create for yourself or gift to your family. Imagine a weekend magazine for your daughter, filled with her favorite science stories, or a digest for your parents, printed and delivered monthly.
What it does
Magzie transforms any combination of RSS feeds, blogs, and newsletters into a custom magazine - digital or printed. Users define fonts, age group, color palette, and categories, then Magzie’s AI editor automatically curates and designs full issues that feel human-made.
How we built it
Magzie uses the Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Browser Tool to intelligently read and analyze web pages. Each issue is built page by page:
- AgentCore captures structured screenshots and extracts article layouts.
- AI models refine the content - adjusting length, structure, or adding missing sections.
- Gemini 2.5 Flash (nano banana) generates higher-quality or stylistically consistent images to replace low-resolution RSS thumbnails.
When you generate a magazine issue then Magzie will run the AgentCore Browser Tool and Bedrock AI model in a optimization loop:
- Generates screenshots of each article
- Assess if changes are needed. For example should the text be longer or shorter or if something is missing.
- If changes are needed, AI generates new text based on the target group and instructions

Challenges we ran into
Magazine layout is an inherently nonlinear problem - every piece (image, headline, paragraph) affects the others. Manual tools couldn’t solve it; AI had to act as the editor. Coordinating the Browser Tool, AI generation, and layout logic was technically complex but crucial for quality.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a working AI magazine editor that designs coherent, multi-page issues from live online content - no templates, no human designer required. It’s the first system that uses AgentCore in a truly creative workflow.
What we learned
AgentCore is incredibly powerful for web-based content automation. It gave us browser-level precision for AI editing and layout optimization. We also learned how to blend content curation, AI design, and emotional storytelling into a single experience.
What's next for Magzie
- Refine the layout intelligence and personalization.
- Integrate Stripe for subscriptions and gifting.
- Add printing and delivery - weekly or monthly, just like real magazines.
