Inspiration

Google maps leads people to the correct building, but doesn't guide users to accessible entrances. For large buildings this can make it difficult to find an entrance that's accessible for wheel chair users and people with other mobility needs.

What it does

Our application navigates users to the nearest entrance that fits accessibility needs and allows buildings to record which entrances are accessible.

How we built it

We built this project using Javascript, HTML, and CSS. This was our first real experience building a website and working with Javascript, so this involved a lot of learning!

Challenges we ran into

Integrating the google maps API..... this was hard. Figuring out that Async exists. GitHub disasters

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting our code to run!

What we learned

How to create a website and integrate an API

What's next for Map Camp

Building a backend to store building data, so that we can increase the number of accessible locations; make the website look nice. Note - the repo requires an active google maps API key to function
