Inspiration:
The inspiration behind JourneySync came from a desire to create a tool that fosters real-time collaboration and creativity through map sharing and drawing. We wanted to enable users to plan excursions, adventures, and collaborative projects with ease, enhancing the way people interact with maps and connect with others.
What it does:
JourneySync is a real-time map collaboration app powered by Ably. It allows users to collaborate on maps, annotate markers, and engage in discussions with friends or colleagues while planning journeys, hiking trips, shopping excursions, and more. With the ability to share and create maps collaboratively, JourneySync transforms ideas into visually stunning maps and provides a seamless chat experience within the app.
How we built it:
We built JourneySync by combining the expertise of our development team with the robust real-time messaging capabilities of Ably. The app was developed using Swift & SwiftUI.
Challenges we ran into:
One of the challenges we encountered during development was working with older examples in the iOS SDKs. We had to navigate outdated documentation and deprecated code to ensure the app's compatibility with the latest iOS versions. Overcoming this challenge required careful troubleshooting and adapting our codebase to meet current standards.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
We're proud of creating an app that enables seamless real-time collaboration on maps. The integration with Ably's real-time capabilities ensures a smooth experience for users.
What's next for JourneySync:
The journey doesn't end here. We have exciting plans for JourneySync's future.
