Inspiration

How many times you scratched your head trying to solve mathematical prblems? You are not sure how to proceed with the problem but quickly want to know approaches and solution? Just ask our 24/7 math tutor messenger bot.

What it does

Interacts with the user by geting a snapshot of the problem to solve. In few mins, it responds with an answer along with the options to view lecture and explanation.

How we built it

We created a Facebook page and Facebook app for our Math Tutor Bot. We built a node js application which uses send/receive api and generic templates for communication.

Challenges we ran into

To extract the equation from the uploaded image, reconstruct the equation and solve expressions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A Messenger Bot itself.

What we learned

We learned a new a powerful mechanism for building and delivering potential solutions. We learned the basics of building a bot for Messenger which sets the solid foundation for addressing real life problems by utilizing Facebook's Messenger platform.

What's next for Math Tutor Bot

We are bringing Wit.AI to add more intelligence to the conversations. To improve the accuracy of equation extraction and solution. To plot a graph for the given equation. To better understand the user's knowledge level over the period of time and train the bot to act differently for different users.
