MvPvP
Inspiration
We wanted to make an experience that hackers could live during the event. So we turned every hacker's favorite activity - vibecoding - into an online multiplayer competitive game.
What it does
Ranked. Vibe. Coding. Live multiplayer matches where you build an MVP in 5 minutes with the help of our code editor and AI assistant. Use the chat or the flowchart builder to make your dream app! Vote for your favorite vibecoded MVP and a winner is declared.
Features:
- What was described above.
- A leaderboard with an ELO system.
- Player profiles with history of games and activity.
- AI ranking of the results to balance human bias.
How we built it
React + NextJS + Tailwind. Gumloop for the backend. Lots of LLM tokens.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating the AI agent, the code editor and the preview all in the same page was quite the challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We got over 40 hackers from McHacks to play MvPvP! See the video. Having the chat outline features and the flow chart outline the skeleton and inherent logic between components in an MVP proves to be extremely intuitive for non-technical users.
What we learned
We learned how to stream data over an endpoint. We learned how to make our own style and branding. We learned how to use Supabase's real-time feature to enable multiplayer. We learned how to create advanced flows to concurrently prompt several LLMs and pick the best output.
Above all, learning to play with ASCII and halftone artwork to frame this artstyle as a keynote theme throughout our application proved to have a steep learning curve.
What's next for MvPvP
Global launch to the stratosphere. We plan on releasing to local communities teaching programming - 2026 is, after all, the year of vibecoding. Seeking companies and adapting MvPvP to suit shorter term training programs is also on our radar.
Open to suggestions!
