Inspiration

Ever feel bogged down by your own music? Hate when a slow song comes up when you're exercising?

What it does

MY(TEMP)O changes songs and speed of music based on how fast you are doing actions.

How we built it

We used a MYO armband to track hand gestures, and a Bose Soundtouch speaker to output the music.

Challenges I ran into

The Bose Soundtouch was difficult to connect to the internet, we had to set up a hotspot on a macbook pro. We also used many technologies we were unfamiliar with.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We made a pretty cool working product.

What I learned

We learned how RESTful calls work, how to use a MYO band, and how to integrate python into c++.

What's next for MY(TEMP)O

Hopefully more accurate gestures and more fun features you can use to play with your music!

I worked on get and post request using RESTful API connecting python script with the Bose SoundTouch Speaker. I developed the basic template for other controller functions. I helped putting different songs to various playlists. I helped teammate fix some bugs.

I worked with the Bose SoundTouch API to develop the final Python script based on my teammate's initial work that would determine what music is sent to the speaker. I also learned how to connect the Soundtouch speakers to the Soundtouch server through the SoundTouch app. I also contributed in identifying songs that matched each beat category. I also helped try to understand how to extend Python scripts with C++.
