Inspiration
It started as a home automation project for CS50x Miami by Jonathan Gonzalez. Later turned into a moving camera controlled by the same network means with real life control by Marial Gutierrez on a later cohort of CS50x Miami. Then we thought that home automation is not only about security and control but also about feeling at home.
What it does
It keeps you warm as you get home with news and data about the status of your house. It is open source and expandable.
How we built it
With a remote control car, an arduino, a wampp server and an ip-camera.
Challenges we ran into
CSS. Communication between the arduino and the website. And a raspberry that may rest in peace.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is a project that we can definitely take for our home.
What we learned
That CSS is as hard as it has been previous times. That voice recognition is significantly complex, specially speaker recognition. And that base shield for arduino is essential and bootstrap is awesome.
What's next for Nana
A working raspberry pi, more and more extensions created by users who would like to take on this idea. And the future of any cool open source project.
