Inspiration

I wanted to fully take advantage of what PartyRock was offering. Generative AI is good with facts with plenty of data. Nutrition facts immediately came to my mind. It was perfect as I was looking to create something actually beneficial to its users. So, I came up with Nutrion.

What it does

Nutrion helps its users become better informed as consumers of food products. Food products are required to list its composition on their labels. However, most consumers have a hard time reading these labels. And its usually not their fault! Ingredient lists are hidden behind layers of complex terminologies, advanced word alternatives, and many more.

While these lists technically give consumers what's required for them to understand the food they're eating, the difficulties mentioned above often deter people from actually reading them.

With Nutrion, consumers can easily bypass these complexities by simply entering some ingredient list of a food product. Then, Nutrion will do the following:

  • Generate a general overview of the given ingredient list Nutrion will list all the ingredients again, but this time, in very simple terms that most people should understand!
  • List associated allergies Nutrion will list known allergies associated with the given ingredients. Not only will consumers know better, they will also be safer!
  • Nutritional summary Nutrion will generate nutritional information about each ingredient like calories, macronutrients, etc.
  • Benefits Nutrion will generate a list of benefits for consuming ingredients in the given list
  • Risks Aside from specifically allergies, Nutrion will also generate general risks associated with each ingredient
  • Fun facts As a bonus, Nutrion will also generate fun facts about these ingredients.

How we built it

The development process was super simple, as I'm sure was the intention with PartyRock. I'd say the most difficult part was fine-tuning the prompts to generate the best results.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Generally, I'm most proud of the concept around Nutrion. I actually think I will be using this a lot. Hopefully other people would find it useful as well!

What's next for Nutrion

As PartyRock grows, I hope to improve upon Nutrion. And maybe one day even build a complete standalone app from it using Amazon's models.
