Inspiration
One in five Canadians aged 12 and older reported that they needed mental health support. Too many people are struggling and feel like they are not getting better.
What it does
OMW is a platform that connects mental health victims to the right therapists. This mobile app also serves as a daily mood journey and a mental health goal tracker. By allowing people to visualize their recovery, OMW shows patients a clear path forward.
How we built it
This platform was built on:
- React Native
- Expo
- Tamagui (design system)
- Solito (cross-platform navigation)
- Next (web version)
Challenges we ran into
- With the majority of the team being first-time module app developers, there are steep learning curves that demand perseverance.
- We ran into issues with expo app, which we overcame with open communication and openness to ask for help
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- We are very proud of our approach to the project, with clear design and purpose in mind.
- We crushed our MVP, delivering a smooth UI that provided all our targetted services

- We learned A LOT about mobile app development and the essentials of clear design
What's next for OMW
- We plan on exploring different ways that mental health problems can be resolved. It is a growing pandemic that impacts so many around the world.
