Inspiration💡

We were inspired to do this project by HPCC Systems. The challenge was to “Design an interface to query this data to deliver the user with a scoring system output for optimal happiness in where they should most likely want to live (or travel).”

Target 🌎

Traveling can be great a drag. Especially if you don’t have a idea of what you’re getting into. Moving is a whole different level. The anxiety, the stress, and other factors are a lot to handle. ParadiseVR eases the effort of traveling for everyone. We believe everyone should be able to experience or visit their favorite place.

What it does ⚙️

We have setup parameters to filter the datasets in order to bring a quick and accurate result for our users. Anyone can adjust the toggles to find the U.S. state that is just right for them. The immersive experience is platform agnostic and allows everyone to join in and have the best experience.

How we built it 🛠

We used ELC and the HPCC systems for handling the data. We used the JavaScript to code the website. Lastly, we used Mozilla Hubs to create rooms in VR.

Challenges we ran into ⚔️

  • Understanding the HPCC environment
  • Connecting our front end to our back end

Accomplishments 🏆

Getting familiar with Enterprise Control Language (ECL) within a short timeframe

What’s Next ⏭

Our goal is to build out the entire UI within VR. Furthermore, the experiences of the locations would be in a more immersive style instead of a gallery. The possibilities are endless!
