What it does
Allows customers to search for nearby lots, and see the spot availability. Spot/lot owners can also post their parking locations for sale.
How we built it
Our. main component that we worked with the most was the Google Maps API. We also used a significant amount of JavaScript, and some HTML/CSS for formatting.
Challenges we ran into
Connecting to the hardware and having it communicate with the database proved to be much harder than originally expected. Obviously given the time constraints, time management was a challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
All of them.
What we learned
Using Google APIs, web creation, and efficient team collaboration.
What's next for ParkALot
Stretch goals include finishing our domain verification, adding an option that will mark the all lots in the database within a given range (almost done), hardware sensors to determine real time availability of spots, account registration options, lot verification, and shape unification (among other things).
