Inspiration
While looking for ideas, our team turned to Anita Paxton, the Vice President of Talent Management at Axxess. She inspired us to innovate a seamless and secure mobile app designed for patients at home to share confidential information with their physicians.
What it does
HealMat is an informatics mobile application and central repository that stores, analyzes, and visualizes health data, cooperated with a smart carpet, which measures weight, temperature, health rate, and emergency situation of the patient by the sensor. This allows the user to alert 911 operators of a medical emergency, or notify doctors of inconsistencies in the patient's health, all while maintaining the user’s privacy and control.
How we built it
The mobile application UI prototype was designed in Figma. We used Flutter SDK and the programming language Dart, which compiles into machine code for cross-platform applications; web browsers, Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, Windows, etc. The backend stores user information and communicates with our AI models.
Challenges we ran into
Our team failed to find a solution during the first four hours until we consulted with Ms. Anita Paxton. For the back-end programming aspect of our application, we used HTML but failed to embed the code into Figma, so we switched to Flutter.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is one of our member's first hackathon! We had relatively low expectations initially, but ultimately we feel very pleased with our final product.
What we learned
We learned how to develop a cross-platform app with Flutter and Figma in less than 24 hours!
What's next for Patienty
We plan to add more exciting features and extra security measures to fully ensure doctor-patient confidentiality.
