Inspiration

Imagine you browse your favorite photography app (EyeEm in our case) and admire the perfect shots of Berlin's nicest sightseeing spots. How did the guys take them? Where have they placed their camera and what time was it (the "golden hour" question)? We needed a good project idea for the EyeEm Photo HackDay 2013 in Berlin. This was it.

What it does

display the gps location of photos using the EyeEm api. Spots are retrieved from Foursquare.

How I built it

Javascript and Club Mate ftw.

Challenges I ran into

gluing together code from people not acquainted with apis or Javascript.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Well, believe it or not: this one was voted the no. 1 project of that Hackathon. Besides I made some quite ok mobile frontend for the lanes without even knowing what I was doing.

What I learned

If you want to build a hybrid app, use a hybrid framework

What's next for Photoration

Quite a dead thing. But the idea is not too bad, I'd say :)
